Satyananda Yoga was developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati based on traditional yoga practices adapted to suit our modern lifestyle. It encompasses many forms of yoga including Bhakti, Hatha, Karma, Jnana, Mantra, Raja, and can be tailored to suit the individual needs of the student.
Satyananda Yoga is a systematic approach that incorporates awareness of all aspects of one's being, using postures to stretch, tone & relax the physical body, breathing practices to balance the energy in the body, meditation to calm and focus the mind and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) to reduce stress, promote healing and create a sense of well-being. A range of practices and postures suitable for beginners to the more experienced is available within Satyananda Yoga and there is a strong emphasis on yogic lifestyle as a means of creating a more balanced and enriched life.
