Information about Yoga Classes

Yoga classes in the Satyananda tradition offer postures, breathing practices and meditation for students of all levels of ability. A typical yoga class:

  • begins with a short relaxation to centre and forget the outside world for a while

  • moves into a series of yoga postures (asana) to relax the body, increase flexibility and remove energy blocks

  • further relaxes and focuses the mind while improving energy flow with breathing practices (pranayama)

  • before integrating and harmonising body, mind and spirit with deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation
