Workshops, seminars and special events are a great way to explore yoga in depth and to meet like-minded people in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Seminars & Workshops

SYTA members regularly conduct or organise yoga and meditation seminars and workshops in areas of interest to students, teachers and the general public. Attendance at these workshops is often evidenced by  a Statement of Attendance detailing the topics covered for those who may wish to use this in a Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) scenario.

Look out for the details of

SYTA Professional Development programs to be conducted by Swami Yogakanti from Bihar School of Yoga, Ganga Darshan, Munger, India.

Swami Yogakanti will be touring Australia, May to June 08, and will conduct one and two day SYTA workshops in a number of places and will present sessions at the Yoga Teachers’ Conference  Koshas – unfolding the self.

At this stage Sw Yogakanti will be conducting programs in QLD, Northern NSW, Mid-North Coast NSW, Mangrove, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne / Mornington, Rocklyn, Adelaide and Alice Springs and possibly New Zealand and Tasmania.

Sw. Yogakanti's Australian Tour  May - Jun 08



Swami Yogakanti is a wonderful and inspiring teacher; she embodies compassion and understanding of yoga on a very deep level. She is very down to earth and teaches in a very practical way that is accessible to all students.

Yogakanti is a senior lecturer and Head of Postgraduate studies at BYB Munger, India. She is also responsible for all student support at BYB and BSY, Munger. She started yoga in Sydney in the mid 1970's and has lived in India since the early 1980's. Yogakanti studied Philosophy
and Sanskrit at Sydney University and Bhagalpur University (India) and has Master's degrees in Philosophy and Indian studies. Yogakanti has written many articles and books on yoga. Recently she has published a Sanskrit glossary.

Swami Yogakanti will be attending Swami Niranjan's program 18th to 22nd April and will be presenting at the Yoga Teachers' Conference "Koshas - unfolding the self",  22nd to 25th April. Both programs will be held at Satyananda Yoga Mangrove Mountain. She will then tour
Australia conducting yoga programs sponsored by Satyananda Yoga Teachers' Association.

A vast range of weekend, weeklong and longer programs are provided by the Satyananda Yoga Academy at Mangrove Mountain (near Sydney) and Rocklyn (near Ballarat).

 

Kirtans
 

Kirtan is the uplifting chanting of mantras. It doesn't matter if you have a good singing voice or not and you are not required to participate in the singing. Everyone can benefit from simply exploring the vibration of the heart.

 


Kirtans run by members are held at the following locations:
