Yoga classes can be arranged on site for students and also for teachers and/or
parents.
There are physical,
mental and emotional benefits of yoga for children and teenagers. Classes are
available to suit students in Pre-Schools, Primary, High Schools and Special
Schools. Classes for High School and Primary students include traditional
postures, breathing and relaxation/meditation. These classes may be included as
part of the weekly sport program, as a health elective or as an intensive
program over several weeks, especially useful for relaxation prior to HSC
examinations. Yoga for Pre-school and Infants grades are also available. While
it is customary for traditional yoga practices to be introduced to children at
age 8, younger students are invited to participate in pre-yoga activities such
as musical movement, animal postures, story-telling and games.
Teachers are renowned
amongst health workers as being stressed and in need of relaxation and
stillness. Yoga for teachers can assist with unwinding, self-nurturing and
increased energy and concentration levels.
