Types of SYTA Membership

There are three types of SYTA membership:

  • Full Membership
  • Associate Membership
  • Honorary Membership

Benefits of Full Membership

  • Opportunity to connect with the wider Satyananda sangha
  • Opportunities to attend Professional Development (PD) workshops and online courses at a discounted cost
  • Access to SYTA’s negotiated Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance rates through SYTA’s preferred insurer
  • Opportunity to apply for a SYTA grant; more details available in the Member Zone
  • Opportunity to access a membership early bird rate at membership renewal time
  • Reduced membership fees with Yoga Australia; more details available in the Member Zone
  • An individual profile web-page for each member to advertise their yoga classes and programmes
  • Quarterly newsletter and mail-outs with events, notices and articles for yoga teachers; Contributions welcome
  • Access to the SYTA website members’ only section, including policies and clear ethical and professional guidelines to inform your yoga teaching activities
  • Voting rights at SYTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Opportunity to join the SYTA Management Committee or the SYTA Ethics Committee
  • Support, recognition and networking opportunities as part of the professional organisation representing teachers trained in the Satyananda system of yoga in Australia and New Zealand
  • Opportunity to join an established SYTA Mentoring Program as a mentor or mentee
  • Access to a range of forums on the SYTA website where you can brainstorm ideas and ask tricky questions of other teachers in the Satyananda system of yoga
  • Opportunity to take advantage of a free week stay (either taken as 7 days together or split into two separate stays of 3 and 4 days) at Rocklyn Ashram in Victoria, Australia or Anahata Yoga Centre, New Zealand

  • Opportunity to connect with the wider Satyananda sangha
  • Opportunities to attend Professional Development (PD) workshops and online courses at a discounted cost
  • Quarterly newsletter and monthly e-bulletin with events, notices and articles for yoga teachers. Contributions welcome as well as advertisements (for a small fee)
  • Opportunity to join an established SYTA Mentoring Program as a mentor or mentee
  • Access to the SYTA website members’ only section including past SYTA newsletters, policies and other information
  • Access to a range of forums on the SYTA website where you can brainstorm ideas and ask tricky questions of teachers in the Satyananda system of yoga
  • Support, recognition and networking opportunities as part of the professional organisation representing teachers trained in the Satyananda system of yoga in Australia and New Zealand, and
  • Information by email about SYTA activities and an invitation to our Annual General Meeting – Associate Members do not have voting rights at SYTA AGMs

Honorary Membership

SYTA Honorary Membership is by invitation only by the SYTA Management Committee and is complimentary. It is for the most highly experienced senior teachers in the Satyananda tradition both within Australia and overseas who are recognised as dedicated and authentic ambassadors of the Satyananda system of yoga.
